With the arrival of the first Sunday of the National Football League season, it's time make sure you can watch all of the action. This year that means rushing to YouTube and YouTube TV for the NFL Sunday Ticket package.
This Sunday kicks off a new era for the programming package of out-of-market regular season NFL games. NFL Sunday Ticket, since it launched in 1984, had previously been delivered by satellite service DirecTV.
Google, which owns YouTube and the YouTube TV live streaming service, won the rights to the package in December 2022 by outbidding Amazon and ESPN and paying about $2 billion annually over seven years, The Wall Street Journal has reported. DirecTV had about 1.5 million subscribers last season, The Journal reported.
