Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown will try his luck at the 2024 NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest,TradeEdge according to a report.
Brown "likely" will participate in the dunk festivities at the 2024 All-Star weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana — according to Shams Charania of The Athletic — before the three-time All-Star suits up for Sunday's marquee game as an Eastern Conference reserve. Teammate Jayson Tatum was named a starter for the East.
Brown's participation would mark the first time an All-Star has participated in the dunk contest since Victor Oladipo in 2018. Brown signed a five-year, $304 million supermax contract extension with the Celtics in the offseason.

The field would be rounded out by reigning slam dunk champion Mac McClung, of the G League's Osceola Magic; the Miami Heat's Jaime Jaquez Jr.; and New York Knicks' Jacob Toppin. Toppin has his own connection to the slam dunk contest — his older brother, Indiana Pacers' Obi Toppin, was the runner-up in the 2021 contest and won the following season.
The slam dunk contest, the final event on All-Star Saturday Night, will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. It will take place on a state-of-the-art LED court erected in the football stadium.
