Halle Bailey is officially part of that mom world.
"The Little Mermaid" star welcomed her first child with boyfriend and rapper DDG, the new parents revealed on Instagram late Saturday.
Bailey shared a photo of the baby's hand, with a gold bracelet adorning his wrist with his name: Halo.
"even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo," Bailey wrote in the caption, adding with laughing emojis, "the world is desperate to know you."
"my biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love," DDG wrote in a caption of the same photo on his Instagram account.
USA TODAY has reached out to Bailey's representatives for comment.
The news comes after months of fan speculation that Bailey and DDG were expecting, with Bailey even pushing back against scrutiny of her physical appearance on social media in November and December 2023.
"I just also wanna say I'm so very grateful for my real supporters who are respectful of women's bodies and loving," Bailey wrote on her Instagram story in December. "Being under a microscope is not easy but for the real ones who show unconditional love religiously, I appreciate you."
Bailey and DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., went public with their relationship in March 2022 when the "I'm Geekin" rapper shared a romantic tribute for Bailey’s 22nd birthday on Instagram, per People magazine. The Chloe x Halle singer revealed in an August 2022 interview with Essence that the two met through social media after DDG messaged her online.
For Halloween, the couple tapped into their playful side and paid tribute to iconic couples in pop culture, such as R&B icons Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown and Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur in their "Poetic Justice" roles.
"The Color Purple" actress opened up about her relationship with the rapper and the impact it’s had on her personal growth in an interview with People magazine in May.
"The best thing about young love is that you're able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else," Bailey said at the time. "I feel like things change when love gets more involved in your life. I have definitely discovered more within myself as a woman. … It's a really cool thing to go through, but a transformative experience."
